The Network and MEAO make a joint submission to the Accessiblity for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) Legislative Review: The government of Ontario passed the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) in 2005. Under the Act, the government picks themes and puts together teams to develop accessibility standards around these themes.  Since 2005, Ontario has established accessibility standards for customer service, information and communications, employment, transportation and the design of public spaces. Professor Mayo Moran of the U of Toronto Law School was asked to look at the roll-out of the Act.   The Network and MEAO collaborated on a joint submission.  We bring up the need for an alignment between the Ontario Human Rights Code and the AODA and the need to look at the areas of health care, education and residential housing.
