IN MEMORY & CELEBRATION OF THE LIFE OF ALBERT BLOM

On Tuesday, August 28, 2012 Albertus (Albert) Blom passed away at the Royal Victoria Hospital at Barrie, Ontario.

Albert and I go back a long way, even before I founded the the National ME/FM Action Network in 1993.  Albert was President of the Barrie & District ME Support Group Inc. and received the Piesley and Community Action Awards of the Province of Ontario for improving the lives of people with ME/CFS and FM.

Albert was a man who did many kindnesses but never felt he did enough for those who needed help. He had a great sense of humour and the Barrie Group flourished under his leadership.  He very much believed that in order to change the lives of people with ME/CFS and FM we had to be active in making as much information available to everyone as possible so that they could make informed decisions and know they were not alone.  He very much lived up to his beliefs and the world is richer because of him.

Albert, my dear friend, you enriched my life by having known you and many benefited because of you.

Thank you from all us and for your loyalty and constant support of the National ME/FM Action Network.
